Default paint/stain removal help

in preparation for moving, I had taken bunch of paint/stain cans out of our utility room and put them on a concrete "patio" under our deck. while they were out there, a can of Minwax wood stain fell over and spilled on the concrete. this is not smooth polished concrete but more of a rough texture. unfortunately I did not notice it right away so it sat for a while and dried.

Any suggestions? this was oil based stain

paint the concrete with an opaque, sanded paint to hide everything. dark green is nice.

Hey Paul....you could try something like CLR cleaner and a small area and a stiff brush to see if it will lift that stain. In the ads they show something like that on concrete, actually garage floors stained with oil....similar.



They also have a spray bottle cleaner for BBQs and other things.

Muriatic acid might work. It's used to clean pools.

Do NOT breathe the fumes, they're nasty.

Before you follow the responses regarding CLR or acid just know that it is not going to remove the stain per se. It is going to etch the concrete a bit and that removed concrete will hopefully include the stain. If it doesn't do that, you are possibly going to enhance the problem because the concrete around the stain will be etched.

I had a similar situation on a wood deck, the power washer will remove it but be careful it will eventually gouge the concrete if held in one place to long.
