CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A Charlotte hotel is facing a major lawsuit after a woman claims that she was drugged by the hotel's bartender and raped at the hotel.
The woman, who isn't being named, has filed a lawsuit against the Omni hotel in uptown Charlotte and the bartender. In the suit, the woman claims she was at the hotel in 2007, when a bartender bought her a drink that made her dizzy.
She claims that he then raped her in her hotel room.
Hotel management told WBTV on Wednesday that they are cooperating with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, but that no charges have been filed in the alleged incident.
"The safety of our associates and our guests is of the utmost importance to us," Charlie Kingston of Omni Hotels Charlotte told WBTV. "We cooperated fully with the investigation that the police conducted. To the best of my knowledge no criminal charges were filed as a result of the investigation."
The hotel plans to fight the lawsuit.
