A good story and it shows again how animals can help people have a better life. Thanks for sharing.:seasix::cert:

My first thought after seeing it was that I really need to get another dog, but after our last Schnauzer I'm a little scared due to all the vet bills we had in the last few years of his life (about 5K plus insulin and needles)......don't think I can afford to do that again, if it happened. :(

Diabetes must be inherent with Schnauzers.
We lost both of ours over the years to diabetes. :sadangel:

And it's too bad because they are my favourite little dog. Great personalities and they don't shed or bark much at all. Even great with kids. We had two as well.

They're almost human with all of the great qualities of a lovable, loyal dog.
Our last passed almost a 8 months ago. We are now breaking in a Havanese / Poodle mix.
Honestly, we're talking about another Schnauzer, but you're right... The med bills were insane.
I thought that it was specific to our breeders here in our area, but hearing your story, maybe not. Our second also had Cushings disease at the end.
