HPDE drivers/Solo 1 drivers questions

I've been out of it for a number of years. Hopefully within the next season (2012) I will go back to doing track events. What's the SA rating required now and how close is it to the next rating coming out? My helmet is a SA 00, hey its been a while but the 05's weren't coming out for 3 yrs. so can you help a girl out. Also does anyone know what the 5 point harness configuration that is now legal with SCCA? I've been out of running for years and I have to replace the harness in my car and hope to god the roll bar is still of legal construction if not I have to go to my cage builder too. Any answers are greatly appreciated.

The car is in the BS/BSP class of SCCA unless that to has changed.

I THINK that 2005 is the oldest SA rating now you can run. I'm not 100% but when we had our solo board meeting a few weeks ago it was brought up and IIRC, they said that the old helmets would have to go.

there's the link to the SCCA's solo II rules. If we can't run an SA2000 helmet, I'm sure the HPDE/TT guys can't either.

I would check into the GCR's latest specs and see what they say about rollcages. I'm not sure what NASA's rules are like, but maybe they allow different cages in their sanctioning.

So the SA 10's will be good until 15 maybe to 17. I was wondering the cycle. Yeah mine is WAY outdated...its been too long of a while for me! I'm going to ask Doug @ECS for the hi speed information...he's currently running so he'll know the answers. I just get lost in the SCCA rulebook trying to read and find everything.

Supposedly, the rules ( at least solo II ) are that the helmets are good for 10 years... so the 2000s were done in 2010, and the 2005 will be good until 2015.

I have an open face pyrotect that I got from Apex perfomance for under $120.

If I remember correctly solo I and II have the. Same helmet specs mine was a bell m2.
You don't. Happen to know about fire suits?? I would like to get more into hillclimbs and solo Is.

no, I don't know about those. BUT... you could go to RacePA (http://www.racepa.com) and ask there. There is a hillclimb section I think. Jeremy Dietzel, Mike Ancas and a few others there are PHA guys and know the ins and outs.
