View Full Version : Looking at a Yukon Denali

Local dealer has a new Yukon Denali with 9K off this weekend. White frost with the cocoa/dark atmosphere interior. Looks nice, kicking the numbers to see if we trade the TrailBlazer SS in or just wait another year till mine is almost paid off and find something for the wife. The TBSS only has 17K on it, not bad for an 8 year old SUV.

Anyone with a Yukon Denali have any input as to quality and such?

Thanks and Happy Independence Day!:USA::USA::USA:

I have had 4, including my current 2010 P.U. w/130K for millage.

No issues with any of them other than normal wear items.

Great rig! :cert:

Curious as to how much for the TBSS?

Yup I just bought a 2015 (new) we absolutely LOVE it, there are a few potential issues to look for. What specifically are you concerned about? I'll send you my #

There is a concern about wind buffeting with some of these vehicles, take it on a nice long drive on the highway, and keep the tires rotated and balanced. We love ours, I'm getting a true 17+mpg in traffic with mine.

Am I hearing this correctly? You have an 8 year old, sub 20K mile presumably paid for sport utility vehicle and you want to go trade it in for a new, larger but decidedly un-sporty replacement for $40K or so? Unless your family has grown by two or more, or there are now too many dogs to fit in the Blazer why would you even consider such a thing?

That 6.2L with the 8spd is anything but unsporty. :yesnod: it's a whole new level of luxury.

But agreed no way that's a trade in kind of car.

I was factoring in the likely trade value of the TBSS.

What color is the TBSS?

Okay, we decided to keep the TBSS (Black Granite by the way). Yes the TBSS has been paid off for about 5 years now. The wife does not work so this is the reason for low miles on it.
I will trade in the SS on the Denali. We are planning more for the future when we get some time to travel with the dogs. We have three Australian Shepherds so no they won't fit in the TBSS very comfortably, hence the larger SUV.

First impressions, the 6.2 is very smooth and has the necessary power. Granted it is not a 10 second strip truck but it will move very well. I like the 8 speed transmission, very smooth not like the 6 speeds.

Thanks for the heads up on the roof noise, smooth on this one.

Wait... what?

Wait... what?

Loved the SS, great car. I will miss it but my Knee won't. It took about 10 months but the left knee was killing me even with the short drive to work with minimal shifts.
I've had the Denali for two days and my knee is beginning to feel much better. When I took the SS in yesterday to trade it, the 12 mile drive I could feel my knee hurting as I got close to the dealership.
I thought about trading for a 16 SS but:
1) I am not a fan of the ricer hood vents, they look out of place.
2) definitely do not like the new rims on the SS.
3) No fog lights on the new facia
4) Not a fan of the slushy six speed auto's.

Do like the bimodal exhaust notes on the new SS's.

There are a couple manufacturers of inline electronically controlled exhaust cutouts now if you wish to make some noise sometimes. 304 stainless and "tunable" in that you can open them as little or as large as you wish. Quick Time Performance is one of the makers.....
