Some people are scared of terrorists, gangs and psychopathic killers. But Gersh Kuntzman of the New York Daily News seems to be far more frightened of his own actions, as the writer, who fired an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle for the first time at a gun range in Philadelphia for a Daily News story, seemed traumatized, saying he was “terrified” by the experience.

Kuntzman fired the AR-15 because he said he wanted to “better understand the firepower of military-style assault weapons and, hopefully, explain their appeal to gun lovers” in the wake of the massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that left 49 people dead and 53 injured.

The writer, who claims to have fired handguns before, said the AR-15’s “explosion of firepower” scared the daylights out of him. He added that the noise from the shot was “humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).”

Kuntzman also had complaints about the gun physically hurting him, saying, “The recoil bruised my shoulder, the brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.”

Ironically, Kuntzman fired shots using the “horrifying” AR-15 to get into the head of gun owners after the Orlando attack, but despite many erroneous media reports, police say that shooter, Omar Mateen, did not use an AR-15. Instead, Mateen fired a semi-automatic Sig Sauer MCX carbine.

Eh, that's nothing.....give him a .44 mag with 8 3/8 or 10 5/8 bbl and one of my handloads.....using a mag rifle primer, two grains of fast powder (bullseye?) and then 26? grains of 2400 powder as I recall some 40 years later......the noise we used to make would get us arrested and life in the Faryland prison Jessup......

Since he's too much of a ***** to handle an "AR-15", I've decided to make a few purchases to make up for him.

1). Black powder - not sexy but my elk tag says that's what I have to use
2). S&W 686 - hunting with a single shot in cougar/bear/wolf territory...not smart without a backup
3). .380/9mm subcompact - just got my CC permit, hate for it to go to waste
4). DPMS Oracle - .223/5.56 - because I ****ing can
