New Doc, thanks nobama, so he giving me the complete physical for an old fart.....I objected to the scopy because of torn ass from a landing off the deck of my boat onto the parking lot a drop of 5' or so....had to have surgery out the ass to repair my gut.....that was a PIA....literally, for weeks....

So they slap me with all this diet restriction crap for a week to do shit samples on a stick......

I said I not good at starving and restricted diet....

they instead want to do the scope, and they joint just sent me a long bunch of instructions and diet restrictions before the scope exam.....

age 72 and am tempted to just cancel out on the whole damn thing, tummy is fine liver/kidney maybe not so much....

anyone been through this crap?? advice???

You know, I don't think I have anything to offer after this.

At age 72 once you are done with this you never have to do it again ( unless they find something).

I have one friend who died, painfully and slowly, and another shitting into a bag because they did not get it.

Your choice.

Gene, I urge you to get it done. The only thing about the procedure that's kinda bad is the night before the procedure. Like I've said so many times before, you can cut the prep medicine in half and still be clean. Drink only about 60% of the GoLightly (or whatever) and use none of the pill laxatives. Add a packet or two of Crystal Lite to the liquid and refrigerate it a few hours before drinking it. Even Crystal Lite Cherry flavor is clear-colored, so no problem.

Then the only thing you have to do is show up for the appointment, get stuck for a twilight sleep drug (very nice drug!), wake up and go home. You can then eat or go to sleep in your bed. It's actually an easy procedure.

Do the entire course before. I was empty after the first round but the wife was not after the entire deal... she gets to prep for 2 days next time!:sadangel:

Been there and done it years ago. After all the prep, I took a Fleets enema a couple hours before the exam (hey, who doesn't like a clean work space?). Minor discomfort but it was well worth the chance of recovery if anything bad discovered. I didn't even get a drug!
I really ecourage you to get it done, Gene.

Well, guess what, I went and had two ultrasound exams, one on my tummy the other looking at my liver/kidney....nothing much rong, but the medicrap is not paying for it, they sent me a reject letter and a bill for some 300 bux....

so NOW, I suspect that colonASSscopy is going to be also not covered, or a bunch of BS to go through at minimum, so I going to the doc's place today and try straighten it out....doubtful, really.....

will see how this pans out,......WTF, Florida Medicaid costs more than it's worth, 104 bux a month for nothing.....typical .gov program, spend tons of money and get nothing for results......

Colonoscopy is preventive care. It should be fully covered.
