Some of you know that my daughter moved from her Mother's in N.C. to live with me full time last year at 12 years old. Long story, not a lot of stability there etc...

We enrolled her in a very good private school locally and she has done an incredible job.

Graduated 7th grade with Distinguished Honors and placed #1 in her math class out of all students. She also scored in the top couple percent Nationally in the Iowa tests.

Can't tell her enough how proud I am of the lady she is becoming.

Well done. Very well done Ms simpleman68. :cert:

Amazing what a change of environment can do for a kid.

Good for her...and you.

BTW, one nice thing about sending you kid to private school, when she finally goes to college, your expenses go DOWN.

:iagree: That's the bloody truth. It can mean the difference between a bright future and a miserable life.

Seems like every weekend he's with us, there is more bullshit from over there. He knows that his mother is lying to him. And the lies are outrageous.

Glad to hear your daughter is doing so well.:thumbs:

That's awesome. A lot of people were waiting for me to fail when my son came to live with me. Showed them!

Parenting doesn't come with a manual so you have to hope the one you write is a bestseller.

Congrats! :cert:

For the first 7 years of her life she lived 10 mins away and Mom and I shared her quite a bit. It about killed me when Mom moved her away. Tried to stop her but no go as the Dad. We were never married and most Dad's have near zero rights unless Mom is an outright crack whore and/or criminal.

I worked very hard to try and get Mom to play nice. Took a few years but in the end all the shit I ate was worth my daughter's happiness.

I've never ever bad mouthed her Mom to her and always worked hard to support the relationship.

Thanks Jeff. Danielle is a great step-mom to her. They've always gotten along really well and she's always been level headed which is a very rare quality for step moms.

We had been married 20 years and my kids were much older when we divorced which makes a big difference. I don't think my kids mom was ever really interested in being a full-time parent. Not that she was out partying, but it seems she just couldn't be bothered. Her loss.

Luckily I don't have to insult my ex...my kids do it for me.

Yeah, I think that's where she will be as she gets older. Wish it weren't so but that was an error on my part many years ago.
