Question for all you lawn tractor guys out there. How much is my old tractor worth. 12 hp, runs great, no smoke. And it's got a clipping attachment for the back as well. 39in. track. How much should I ask for it? :bigears

I'd throw a paint job on her first, then maybe $350-$400 :D

I put it in Kijiji and Cl at 400$ and got a bunch of responses. One couple coming out first thing in the morning to see it.

Be ready for negotiation...

Lots of folks just want to turn over stuff like this, and they'll be low balling. Hopefully you have some folks that actually want to keep it.

No yet, .....someone is supposed to look at it today. You get all the idiots, people fishing, lowballers etc. at first. How can you offer without seeing the machine.....? Tells me how serious they are. :slap:
One fool wanted me to deliver it about 60 miles to his cottage. I told him for an extra 100$ I would.

Perfect price brought people in and they knew value when they saw it.
It's better than pricing it too high and not selling it or scaring potential buyers away.
Noice !! :hurray:

That's some good news there Robbie. :yesnod:

I always get nervous before a large ticket sale like this. People play all sorts of games instead of just being up front and honest.

End of last year I met a plumbing contractor who did a huge house and the guy paid him partly with a 16 hp new tractor. he never used it due to his tiny lawn, so he sold it to me for 500$. I'll post some pics of it when I get it out of the shed.....like new......with enough power to do the hills easy. Forget the name.....just a house brand, nothing special. So I moved up in hp and 20 years newer for 100$. :D

Maybe some racing stripes, sponsor decals, and driver name & flag next to the seat.

The paint job thing was a joke. The price was solid.
He got 4 hundo with the quickness. :seasix:

I'd recommend some rear tires with a little more tread :D

And a bit stiffer construction. Wrinklewalls grow in diameter on burnout and there's basically zero fender clearance on that beast.

Here's a few shots of the replacement unit. Looks dirty in the shots but it's like new. 15.5 hp Briggs motor......
Even replacing the belts on the old one would have been just under a hundred bucks and they were due. Another reason to move up for a hun more than I got for the old one......:yesnod:
