So, kinda cool out but I managed 150 regardless.

Anyway, I'm getting gas and these two middle aged chicks are at the pump next to next to me filling up their bikes. One has an older Deuce and the other has a brand new right outta the box no plates Sportster.

"Sir? We're a little embarrassed but we can't get the gas cap off" said the Deuce chick. I walk over there and the idiot is twisting on the fuel gage which has a big decal on it that says- Do Not Twist :thomas: I pointed this out to her and twisted the correct cap and it comes right off. "Well my husband said you have to take both off." At this point all I wanna do is get the fuk outta there before these two hit the road.

I leave the station and I'm sitting at the stoplight waiting for the green when I hear this horrible crashing sound. I look over and sure enough the brand new right outta the box no plates Sportster is laying in the middle of the gas station parking lot with one of the chicks standing over it staring like it was the bikes fault. Deuce chick was still at the pump probably trying to unscrew her exhaust for all I know. No clue what happened but whatever it was it was loud enough that I heard the crash over my idling sled with the radio on.

Who am I to say but if you're gonna ride a motorcycle knowing how to get the damn gas cap off is probably job #1.

Do you suppose these chicks took the rider safety course?

My daughter is taking the road version of the Motorcycle safety course this weekend, put on by a local Community College- State Certified.
She'll finish up tomorrow and receive a waiver to get her MC stamp on her DL.
Right now, she has a Yamaha Star 250cc to familiarize herself with riding. It's now on the local CL for sale, and she's been e-mailing me pix of Sporties (used)
Hr husband bought a new leftover 2015, so money is tight right now for them (which I think is why she's e-mailing me pix -hint -hint)

If they did, they paid no attention whatsoever. If I had to guess what happened I'd say she was standing up at the pump idling and absentmindedly let go of the clutch and the bike shot out from between her legs. She wasn't on the ground the bike was.

There's a LOT of women riding these days. Kinda cool if you ask me. :yesnod:

Local Yamaha dealer here in Orlando sold an R6 to a guy a few years back. The dude had never ridden before...never. The salesmen gave him the basics, then tried to tell him to have a friend ride it home and "learn" in a safer environment when they saw he was clearly in over his head. Eventually they let him go.

The guy made it about a half mile before trying to ride through a telephone pole, killing himself.

I wonder what these saleman think when they sell a bike to a guy like that. Sounds like he tried to coach him a little but he wasn't having any of it.

Now he's dead.

Anyway, what are we all doing today? :cert:

Sounds like her husband opted to buy her a bike and let her go out and kill herself with no riding training courses......cheaper than a divorce.:ack:

That's taking a big gamble. She could be seriously injured, but LIVE, and that would be much more expensive and complicated than a divorce.

There is a very popular rather large bar a ways down the lake from my house that serves very good food. It tends to do a good business in general and many bikers stop here for lunch and dinner.

We were going in for dinner and about 20 riders came in. The bar has a rather nasty almost 140 degree turn on a hill to get to the parking lot. The bikes were very nice and me and The Mrs watched them come in.

A woman riding a rather new HD lost control and dropped it right in front of us.

Bike was custom painted in a Corvette looking Daytona orange color and had lots of chrome and fancy saddle bags on it. Needles to say it lost a lot of its good looks in about 2 seconds. Her husband/boy friend was beyond mad.

I suck at riding motorcycles, therefore, I don't ride 'em.
Duh, it's that simple.

When I was in Navy Nuke School in the 80s we had a classmate that had never owned a bike choose a turbocharged Suzuki for his first. Within a week he head-on'd a guy in a Grand Torino station wagon, killing himself and almost killing the guy in the car.

I'll bet she knows how to ride, and maybe the bike too.

That's why I believe in the displacement/horsepower gradient system like they have in Europe. You start out with 250ccs and gradually work your way up. Really...cars should be the same. How many fools kill themselves with a 'too fast' car within days....:sadangel:
