D'IBERVILLE, MS - A D'Iberville High School student was arrested Wednesday after investigators say he head butted a teacher, then came back to assault the teacher again.
Cory Smith, 18, of Biloxi, is charged with a felony charge of simple assault on a school official.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara, Smith became enraged about something that happened off school grounds. A teacher tried to restrain Smith, but ended up getting head butted.
Once Smith calmed down, he ran out of the school, only to return a few moments later with the intention of assaulting the teacher again. Sheriff Brisolara said the teacher again tried to restrain Smith, who hit the teacher with his hands.
Smith is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
