in my old house. New place is all ready, carpets done today and the movers will be here tomorrow morning. Excited about the new place, but I'm leaving lots of good memories behind here. I lived here 11 years, longer than anywhere else I ever lived. Onward.:seasix:

I won't have internet at the new place for a few days. See ya later.

I'm here and the hospital today doing my volunteer job, so I have internet access. The move went very smoothly, taking four hours instead of the estimated seven hours. $496 total cost. There's still a lot of work to do at both the old house and the new one, but it's all coming together nicely. I will have internet installed at the new house tomorrow and Direct TV the day after.

I have discovered I can really find time to get a lot of work done when there's no internet or TV.:yesnod:

Internet installed today. This is my first post from the new house. Direct TV tomorrow, then everything will be all set up. Brought another load from the old hose today, not much left there. I still have two more weeks of renting back from the buyer, so no pressure, everything is ahead of schedule, but still lots more to do.:yesnod:

Our next step is a complete kitchen remodel in the new place. The designer from the home improvement place was here yesterday to measure.

The current kitchen isn't that bad, but we've made the rest of the place look so much better with the new carpets and paint, it looks crappy now. Oh well, small kitchen, so it wont be too expensive. We're thinking 5-6K.

Watch those designers carefully, get an over head road map of the plan then take your own tape to it, making sure the math adds up, for instance, you first step is to measure the window width and mark the center, then measure from that center to the closest corner of the room, note the width of the cabinet you are using under the sink, and do the obvious math....some of them guy botch it up SO bad it's amazing.....like my daughter's kitchen, done by a total rank amateur....and sloppy at that......:kick::shots: Something you may consider is removing a wall next to the dining area and making a pass through counter or even a bar top and face the stove toward the large area so the cook can join the party, not all isolated like my Mom was for decades.....but that will surely run the price and time up....:cert:

We are now 100% out of the old house. I'm meeting the new owner in about an hour to hand him the keys. Feels good to be done with it.

Now for the next crisis, completely rebuilding the kitchen in the new (to me) mobile home. So far the installer that was recommended to me by the guy I bought the cabinets from was a no-show to give me an estimate and hasn't returned my phone call from yesterday. Not a good sign. I'll find someone else, I suppose.
