My wife and I occasionally frequent the Waffle House near our home. They have a black female cook who works there who can S-I-N-G up a storm! She belts out tunes left and right while she's scrambling up eggs and scatterin' hash browns. Just going in to watch her sing and cook is well worth the price of the greasy food alone.

I go for the food and the cooking show! Those line cooks work their butts off.

I haven't been to an Awful House since the roach at the one we ate at in Macon, Ga. crawled off with a slice of my toast on his back!

Is it even possible to OCCASIONALLY FREQUENT someplace?

Health department nightmare.

Handles raw pork, then a hash brown scoop, then plates, then butter (or whatever he put on the plates) all without washing the raw pork off his hands.

I think he handled the bacon with gloves, the other stuff not. I personally love some Waffle Hizzle. OneDef, sorry ya got a roach.:D Has anyone ever seen the sign on the inside of the door of the bathroom at WH? It reads, "Please do not throw toothpicks in the toilet, because the crabs in here can pole vault"...:D:leaving:

That there is an amazing talent and an amazing work ethic, not to mention his mental capacity to keep track of all of the orders. I'm sure this guy love his job, but somebody with his talent and commitment is being SERIOUSLY under utilized. :yesnod: He's destined for much greater things than being a short order cook at the Waffle House.

I too love eating at Waffle House. :sneaks:

Anyone who has worked in a BUSY service establishment, from bartenders, to waitresses, to cooks, and kitchen managers HAS to be able to perform like that. When you do it well it's a real rush almost like playing a sport at top speed with great manual dexterity. Like an orchestra playing a fast symphony. And you're right....a vastly under utilized talent market.

Damn good eye. Only the HB scoop got the bacon treatment. The plates and the rest are without the glove.

Awful House is great especially after going on a long bender or a hard night of partying.

Naw DJ, I've never, well what I should say is, naw, you got me. I've been face down in a bowl of grits at 4 a.m. at a WH more than I can count. WH is some of the finest southern cusine available on the planet. Where else can you get all the bad stuff you will ever need in your body...well, look no further than.........hashbrowns. Smothered, covered, diced, chunked, and scattered. Oh hell, I'm eating there tomorrow.:seasix: Can no longer resist!:D
