We ran into Milton Fox at Cars and Coffee yesterday. Spent the day with him, his wife and other Vette friends.

He wondered where everyone went about 2 months ago. :lol: Now he knows! :dance:

There was a place I used to go to in my misspent youth called the Fox Inn in Santa Monica. Basically set up like a German Biergarten...lots of long picnic benches with tablecloths, and all they served was beer and pretzels and a few appetizers.

At 9pm, the owner (last name Fox) came out, sat at the piano and played and sang these absolutely filthy German beer drinking songs. At about 8:45, the already half-drunk crowd would start pounding their beer mugs on the tables screaming "Where the fvck's the Fox!"

Ah the good old days...it was like a good old fashined Bund Rally I tell ya. :rofl:

Anyway...everytime I see Milton's name I think of that. :cheers:

He died when the Man Show was still on TV, around the third season I think. That's cool that you knew him before he became a minor celebrity.

Oh man...The Fox Inn was a blast. People got absolutely shitfaced (myself included). Fights broke out a few times and it was a great place to find someone and get laid. Serious. Better than a bar because for the most part, everyone was singing and having a blast. My buddies and I used to stand on the benches and sing.

You felt like a Brownshirt for the night (without the desire to open a Concentration Camp).

I remember seeing that guy on the Man show. He was pretty old then, and very funny, but I think they had to clean up his act for TV. But I recall some bodacious Frauleins hoisting big mugs of beer. Very entertaining!:cheers:

I'd be surprised if my uncle and I weren't there around the same time- if we're talking the early-mid 70's. Think Uncle Richard bought the cornerstone of that place. That, and the Fox and Hounds a little further up Wilshire.
