Damn. They shouldn't hurt THAT much.
Maybe you should go back to the dentist. :sadangel:

I had em back in the day and they hurt like ****... The only upside is that you actually get accustomed to the pain..
Good luck. The results will be well worth it, and you will increase your pain tolerance a shit ton as a result..

Good God. I had no idea those things were that painful.
How painful are regular wire braces?

The pain comes when you get them adjusted every other month or quarterly. Just when the pain subsides a bit from you teeth shifting from the last adjustment its time for them to get cranked down yet again.. It ****ing blows...

Since I have the Invisalign it means I am changing "trays" every two weeks...so every two weeks I am expecting the awful pain to come back. :beat:

once your teeth adjust to the shift, the pain shouldn't last more than a few days...I imagine it's the same as traditional metal braces? after an adjustment it was only painful for a few days until the the next adjustment.
good luck with it though I know it's painful, but in the end it will have been worth it

Yup...
I used to play basketball alot. Every once in a while there was a misguided pass or someone would accidently slap you in the face... Man it was fun pulling your bloody lip/cheek of those metal braces...

I had braces for two years in HS, age 15-16. Just before my junior year started I was scheduled to get them removed. But the night before I got in a bad motorcycle wreck and mangled my mouth pretty badly. I had to go to my orthodontist the day after, all bandaged up and with over 100 stitches in my chin, to get them removed. He actually cried while doing this, because I had broken several teeth and wires were smashed into my mouth and stuff. I mean he had tears just running down his cheeks the whole time. Me, I was so drugged up I barely remember it.
Six weeks later I had new braces put on. I had to wear them for two more years, such was the damage that stupid wreck did. So, essentially, I had braces the entire time I was in HS, which sucked big-time.

Good looks not getting the wire braces. They hurt and are ugly. I'm still feeling the effects. Each of the 4 "achor" teeth (or whatever the back teeth with the big metal bands on them are called) have died. I've had more root canals than I can remember.
