I've had light rain all day; now the rain has stopped, wind is picking up a bit, and its getting darker. Central Mississippi (where I am) is supposed to get heavy thunderstorms, high winds, and tornadoes until 10:00 tonight. I'll surely lose electricity, so I've brought out my propane hot plate, and I'm putting a crow bar, a flash light and gloves in my hall closet.

Damned Weather Service keeps saying, "in the event a tornado is spotted. be prepared to move to a place of safety." And...where would that place be?

If you haven't already done so, set your cell phone up to receive emergency weather alerts.
It'll buzz loud as hell even if your ringer is off. :cert:

When I get the warnings I put the mattress off the daybed/cot and my motorcycle helmet in the bath tub... if the sirens go off, I put the motorcycle helmet on, get into the tub with the lockbox of important documents, my laptop and pull the mattress in over me...
