PALM BEACH ISLAND, FL (CNN) - Palm Beach Island is home to some of Florida's most beautiful beaches. But it's also home to some of the nation's most expensive parking meters.
Prime spots near the ocean will cost you $5 an hour. With fees that high, forget feeding in quarters, you'll probably have to swipe a credit card.
"Is that $5 for an hour or $5 for the day? So I walked away and figured, maybe across the street is $1 an hour," said tourist Rui Domingos.
The price of parking in Palm Beach is $5 an hour just about everywhere.
It used to be a still pricey $2 an hour, but the town council raised rates last year to make up a budget shortfall.
