Nintendo 3DS Will Have Netflix Support
Nintendo Wednesday announced several features for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS portable console, including Internet access through AT&T WiFi hot spots, and Netflix streaming support.
The gaming giant also announced that a 3D Super Mario game will appear on the device, which launches in the U.S. March 27.
“There is great potential to increase the number of people who enjoy video games by opening up new game-play opportunities that are only available through the use of 3D. ”Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said in a speech at the Game Developers Conference.
“Nintendo 3DS will be the most connected Nintendo device ever, with its ability to link people via local wireless connections, while at the same time connecting them to people and content worldwide via hotspot connectivity.”

Apple announces iOS 4.3 updates at iPad 2 media event
Alongside the somewhat expected iPad 2 launch, Apple has brought some significant updates to iOS 4.3. First of all, the Safari browser will feel a lot quicker when you’re browsing dynamic websites, because Apple are bringing some of the same technologies—known as the Nitro JavaScript engine—to iOS 4.3. This means that JavaScript will load twice as fast which will be a huge improvement when you’re visiting websites such as Facebook, which uses a lot of JavaScript.
iOS 4.3 is also bringing updates to AirPlay and iTunes Sharing, which means when you come across a video on the Internet, you can now stream it to your Apple TV. Before this update, you could only stream audio from a website. Once you’ve updated your iDevice to iOS 4.3, you’ll also be able to stream audio and video content across your home WiFi connection to your device.
The final improvement that got a mention on stage today is the ability to change what the switch on the side of the iPad actually does. Originally, it was used to control the iPad’s orientation, but then Apple decided to use it to in the same way that the iPhone does, by having it as a mute switch. Evidently, a lot of users preferred having the orientation option, and so this has been restored in iOS 4.3.
iOS 4.3 has been available to developers for a few weeks now, but it’ll be available to download for all iPhone’s, iPod touches and both iPad’s on March 11.
