Wounded Warrior Project accused of wasting donation money - CBS News (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/wounded-warrior-project-accused-of-wasting-donation-money/)
I knew this shit was going on, when you get that big with national notoriety, the abuse will happen. Never gave a penny towards them, too much goes to admin stuff and salaries, not enough to the troops. My donations go to the various local military charities, I can actually watch my money do some good.
if i want to, and can help someone, i'll just do so directly. skip the pan handling middle man who makes more than i do.

:iagree:
Same goes for the Humane Society. All those tear-jerking commercials showing abused animals with Sarah McLachlan singing "Angel" in the background? Most people don't realize that when you give to the national organization, you're actually supporting the Humane Society in New York state. There is almost no trickle down to the local organizations.
This year I gave directly to the Humane Society of North Texas. I think it's very telling that on their website they make a point of disassociating themselves from National Organizations like the ASPCA and the Humane Society. I've found it's always best to donate to charities at a local level.
And...I think Trace Adkins is kind of a tool. Just sayin'...

I have heard bad things about this outfit for quite a while. Shame so many of those so called charities only give a lot of money to the officers of the corporation! BASTARDS!

They are awful. I have known this for a few years. Also another forum member who knows shared his similar thoughts with me a couple years ago.

Absolutely. We do a fair amount of donating to local rescue organizations. Our dog hobby put's in contact with a lot of them anyway and we can see who needs food, crates, leashes, etc. Works great, and we can see the impact.
