I bought a home and needed a truck to haul furniture, this has been great. My mod wish list is short, HID, wheel well liner, mud guards.

2015 F150 XLT 302a, max tow package, 3.5 EcoBoot, 36 gallon fuel tank.

So far I'm averaging 18.5 mpg over 800 miles.

My first truck. Had over 100,000 miles on it and I think it got 100 miles per quart of oil!

Very nice. They had that color at the auto show last Fall, and I really liked it. Don't seem to see many that color on the road.

You will have a hard time ever wanting to go back to a car after buying a truck.

That and the daily drive to work, I hit a pothole the first week on the new job and blew a tire. :-(

You will have a hard time ever wanting to go back to a car after buying a truck.Especially when shipping. It's so nice to have room.

My first Ford was like that, I hope this won't be.

I actually don't like driving my truck as a daily driver, but I love having it.
I guess I will always have two vehicles.

I didn't enjoy previous trucks as a DD but this one has changed that. I love driving it.

A Livernois Motorsports tuner has been great for this. Upload the performance tow tune and its wonderful to drive with gobs of torque under the curve.

Nice truck Son! :cert:
Also a 2015 XLT with the 3.5 EB

Oh, nice! You require premium gas now right?

Oh, nice! You require premium gas now right?

Their module holds 5 tunes

Stock tune
tow 87 octane
tow 91
performance 91
performance 93

I am currently using tow 91 and use only ethanol free 91. I could use the tow 87 if desired.
It's a really nice bump in mid range torque and the shifts roll out very smoothly.
Highway passing is incredible on this tune.

Gas mileage is pretty "meh"
15 town
18-20 highway (usually 18 as it's hard to keep your foot off the go pedal)

got my first truck at 17 and haven't been without one since. Car only people just don't get it.

I have a 2013 crew cab F150 with the ecoboost and max trailer/max tow with the 3.73 gearing. 30k trouble free miles. My avg fuel economy right now is 13.4 with winter gas and 1 inch taller 10 ply tires. I still like it though. The best mod I bought was the line x bedliner.

Very good choice, Son. Iirc, you had a 3 series BMW. I may be wrong but I think the DD trucks of today are similar in ride quality. What's your thoughts?

Yes I do have a e92 Bmw as well.

For DD, the f150 rides great and has great power, the 2.7L ecoboost is faster and I would have gotten it if it was available. As for driving characteristics it has very good road manners. The suspension is great, it turns in very well, brakes are strong, body lean is much better than expected. It doesn't dart around in the road, very easy to drive. My wife drove it back from the dealership and she did great first time out. She said it didn't handle like a giant vehicle

For comparison I was given a ford fusion to drive whel they fixed a paint defect and that felt significantly worse then the truck. The power was way down, body roll was high, it didn't really get great mpg either.

Pretty much the exact truck my dad has. It's great when the interior isn't coated in dog hair. He's got a shell on it, and has only backed out of the garage a few times with the back window in the up position.

Nice, detailed write up. :seasix:

I'm not surprised with the Ford Fusion. It's a people mover and basic transportation. Alternatively, the F-150 generates more interest internally as well as externally due to sales, imo.

I have a 2010 with the 5.4, and I love the truck. Best mileage I ever got was running pure gas and I got a shade over 19 mpg. Generally though, I'm in about the 16.8 category. Very nice truck.:seasix:

You will have a hard time ever wanting to go back to a car after buying a truck.

For me I always preferred a Truck to drive just because I was always finding something to haul on my days out.

While I had many cars over the years that I bought and sold for resale, I rarely ever drove them.
