To me, I scored big time. I got this blue tooth thing that runs off my phone (Pandora and such) that I can plug into my garage stereo, and man, it is jam up. Also, this box that plays Hulu, Netflix, and some others on my tv downstairs. I cut my cable/satellite off over a year ago and don't miss it especially because of the expense. My kids hooked me straight up!!!! Everyone in my house is a happy camper, but at last, let's not forget the reason for the holiday. As always, be safe in your travels, enjoy the family time, well with the exception of the ones you want to choke out! :D Plus, if any of you think about it at the time, record your fireworks display when New Years eve rolls around.:cert:

Very good thread! Besides the usual shave cream and after-shave lotion, razor blades, candy, and canned boiled peanuts, I got a new Crock Pot, kitchen tool set, cheese biscuits makings, fig preserves, tomato relish for peas and beans, and a book of crossword puzzles.

Our Christmas was special because we invited two guys who usually have to spend Christmas alone. One is old (78) and one is young (27). Before opening the presents, I made everybody a breakfast of blueberry hot cakes and grilled smoked sausage with maple syrup and orange juice. We gave them a few presents and watched their eyes light up. They were toched and so were we.

My daughter gave the prayer before breakfast. I will feel Christmas for several days.

Well, even after both deciding that we were not getting each other anything. My wife bought me a nice new Canon 70D and 4 different lenses along with tripods and lots of accessories. (Pretty sure my sister helped her out on the shopping)

And she ended up with some nice jewelry as well :seasix:

Forgot, Heather bought me a bottle of 12 year Single Malt Highland Scotch from Trader Joe's. It's actually the Trader Joe's branded stuff. I found a thread on Reddit about this swill, it's actually pretty damn good though.

That is a good present. I wish I had more time to go fishing. I am thinking next year of making more time for that.

Mom, sister, step father, grandmother and me. We needed no presents and gave none. Except for being together. The greatest gift I could have received or given. A great Christmas full of family, food and fun. :seasix:

My best material gift this year was from my pastor....I'd sold him a Taurus .357 snubnose a few years ago. I tried to buy it back, but he wouldn't part with it...until this Christmas. He handed me a gift box and inside was the "Little Buddy":hurray:
Wife and kiddo got me assorted things, such as an ankle holster for the snubbie, and most importantly, lots of loving and cuddle time. Been a great Christmas, even though at 65 degrees and sunny it didn't feel the most Christmas-y.

I "regifted" a cash present to my wife :seasix:

and I got my first Hit and miss engine. While it's cool to actually own one myself, the best part is it came from my neighbor across the road from where I grew up. I practically lived over there helping out on his farm and he was the one who cultivated my interest in both old iron and mechanical devices.

I received several great gifts; some Corvette shirts and some favorite candes from my childhooddays (Kits and Big Hunks), along with the presence of my wife of 47 years and our daughter. Truly blessed and I am very grateful.

I never ask for anything, and do not expect anything for Christmas.. but unexpectedly I received one of the best gifts that anyone could ever possibly ask for.

Yesterday while we were giving out gifts to all of the kids and I was taking photos the camera battery died and I asked my wife to take it home and charge it for awhile and bring it back for me.

I was really tired and had plenty of helpers, so just went over away from the crowd for awhile to sit down and relax and just watch the show for awhile.

A little girl about 8 years old that had just got her gift came down from the stage and started walking straight towards me, I did not know her, and had never seen her before.

She was not from our village, and I do not know where she came from, she had on a really nice white dress which set her apart from the other kids as most can not afford something like that.

Anyways, she came up to me and showed me her doll, and with a big smile on her face she told me Thank You! in one of the sweetest most sincerest voices I have ever heard.

I still have no idea where she came from and when her mother walked up she also said thank you, I just told them no problem and said Merry Christmas

The kids mom did not put her up to this, she did it all on her own, and made a pretty good walk to go out of her way to do so.

How this little girl know that I had anything to do with this at all I do not know, as to most anyone that was not from our village if they just saw me just sitting away from the crowd would not know.

Her and her mother walked to a car and drove away.. I have no idea who they were or how they got on the list as all of the kids were called by name one at a time to come to the stage to get their gift. I asked my wife who they were and she did not know either.

I will have to ask Tata today to find out if he knows.

I was kind of surprised when this happened, and did not think to ask her name or where they were from.. wish I did now.

I'm going to post this in the Christmas thread also....

Hey! We are about ready to cut the cord at the house and the cabin, thinking of Roku boxes. Cable is WAY overpriced man.

I bought myself a rifle. Rossi 92 (Winchester 92 copy) in .38/.357

As long as you are getting good internet speeds, cutting the cord is easier than ever. I still have DirecTV for the time being but often stream something down from Amazon Prime to one of my smart TVs, it works fantastic, like watching a BlueRay in quality. Roku, AppleTV, ChromeCast, lots of options plus the smart TV thing.
