Hey all you east coasters, if you have to go out anywhere, be careful out there. Heavy rain will be on an off all day long today, with 20-30 mile winds gusting up to 40. Tonight will be the same with gusts up to 50. Tomorrow looks like it will be about the same.

Sucky day for people like me in transportation, but my F series Superduty Ambulance will keep me out of trouble...as long as the winds don't get too bad.

I did drive the Vette to work today though. The staff started complaining last night about the weather being bad and not being able to get to work in the morning. I told them that if I can make the 38 mile commute in the Vette in this weather then no one else should have a problem.

Everyone showed up today...I will admit though that after everyone hit the road, I did pull it into the garage. :leaving:

Yup it's nasty out there! Driving home in the dark with the rain and the winds blowing my dumb van all over the road was oh so exciting. Should be a lot of fun tomorrow too!

Latesha said go back to sleep. We canceled all of our trips except for dialysis....and one jerk of a private pay that we have to bring down 9 steps OUTSIDE and refuse to cancel. :ohnoes:

Part of 495 at Route 50 in VA was closed this morning due to flooding. THe HOT lane construction screwed up the drainage...:beat:

They were also keeping trucks off of the Bay Bridge because of the high winds.

No golf today - unless it clears up. :(

Well, another day to be careful out there boys and girls. Norfolk, Portsmouth, & Chesapeake have a LOT of places underwater at the moment. Took my rig out to asses the roads and see where would be the best bets for our drivers to get our dialysis clients home and there are a s**t load of stuck and stalled cars....to bad I don't work for a tow company...LOL

Don't go out unless you have to, if you do, avoid the standing water, and PLEASE be careful.

Sitting in my office listening to the wind driven rain hit my window. It's raining its a** off out there. Lots of flooding all around us. Sure hope I can get home without an "event".

This weather really sux. All of our animals are miserable. The horses had to stay in the barn all day. Our dry lot...ain't.

The Dogs look at you funny when you let them outside... They're like, "seriously, you want me to go out THERE?"

Ground everywhere is so soft you sink to your ankles...

Noticed that the Gloucester Point Fishing pier is completely under the York River. Our little public boat landing is under also.

Roads are pretty nasty up here. Amazed we got power back so soon. Was out for only 3 hours. Usually it's 3 days.

We recorded consistent 40-50 mph winds with gusts to 70 mph here yesterday. We've averaged 7"-10" of rain in the past 72 hours and there are flooded roads, downed trees and power outages everywhere in Hampton Roads...that's just a little more than a little rain.

Actually in the last hurricane, there were a little more winds and downed trees, but the flooding was no where as bad.
