Any time I get something that doesn't meet reasonable expectations, and it seems to happen more and more these days, I say so to the appropriate person, in a calm manner and to help a company improve their product.

Most often I'll then get a wad of coupons for free product, or even just a box of product. Swiffer sent me a case of duster refills and ten free handles when I bought a duster that ended up having a broken handle.

Roommate got at least $100 worth of Monster Energy coupons, after she got an empty can in a 4-pack.

It's worth it to complain most times, and companies would love it if you did it direct to them, rather than online, lol...
