Could you post a picture of the label on a bottle of your usual rhum ( Tanduay)?
We don't get the most common version here, and I'd like to compare what you get there to what can be bought here.
Thanks.

Do What!!!
I got to thinking about this later...
Are you telling me they sell it now there where you are in Virginia? :island14:
I heard the FDA Banned it from the USA as it may not be fit for human consumption. :Jeff '79:
These labels came off the 750ML bottle that we call a Long Nik
At the left is the front label and also the Label that goes up on the neck.
The the white label on the right is on the back of the bottle.
This bottle cost 100p at the local Sari Sari stores, but can be bought for 95p at the two larger stores here. (about $2.08)
How much does it cost there?

They just started importing the silver and gold, more upmarket versions. Been looking for it, but distribution is spotty. Thanks for the label scans, it may help me find it.

I have not seen it here on the Island but guessing they have it at the bigger stores in Cebu
From what I am reading it is what they are marketing overseas and is probably a better quality than we drink here.

A bit about the history..
Tanduay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tanduay traces its origins to a distillery in Hagonoy, Bulacan originally owned by Elias Menchatorre. In 1856, the distillery was acquired by Valentin Teus y Yrisarry and brought into Ynchausti y Compañia, a partnership owned by José Joaquin de Ynchausti, Joaquin Marcelino Elizalde y Yrisarry and Juan Bautista y Yrisarry. Although the Hagonoy distillery was already in operation at the time of the acquisition, Ynchausti y Compañia decided to use its own foundation date (1854) as the distillery’s foundation date. Six years later, a rectifying plant was constructed in Isla de Tanduay, bordering the Quiapo and San Miguel districts of Manila, becoming the original Tanduay distillery. There are no records of the product names produced by these two distilleries and it can assumed that all alcoholic products of the period were sold without brand names or distinctive labels and were referred to in its generic names: "aguardiente" (Spanish for alcohol), "tuba" (palm wine) and "ron" (Spanish for rum). However, earliest records of the distillery list its rum simply as "ron de distileria de Hagonoy y Tanduay" (literally, “rum from the distillery of Hagonoy and Tanduay”). By the 1900s, production would shift to the Tanduay distillery in Manila. By the 1930s, the rum it produced became branded as Tanduay Rhum and its packaging was changed from the 10 gallon dama juana container to the smaller (375 ml, 750 ml) glass bottles
I have not had the 10 gallon dama juana container yet... but it sure sounds like a party pack! :Jeff '79:

Tim, I thought you were drinking Tanduay 65. I got that impression from an thread about two years ago when you posted a picture of a little old woman who had just bought a pint bottle for less than a dollar.
Found another of your threads (http://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/260006-post7.html) which shows the Tanduay 65 bottles.

Oh hell na..
I have.... but only buy it now when it's an emergency and there is no more stock of the 5 year and all the other stores are closed, or off at a Jungle Disco sometimes.
Usually I stock up my own bottles when we go out to one... just for that reason, and rarely can I get Nestea when out also, so always have a few extra packs in my cargo pockets. :D
The 65 is not as strong, (I think 65 proof) and a very sweet sugar Rhum.
It's about 10 peso a bottle cheaper for the 375ML.. so a lot of the locals do drink it to save money, But I prefer not to.. if I can avoid it.
I just came back from a birthday party awhile ago, and they are drinking the 65 and Pepsi, I do not like it with Pepsi or Coke, makes me sick..
I passed..
I could have bought what I like as we were sitting right next to a store, and even already have a bottle downstairs if I really wanted to drink, but I drank last night so taking a day off.

Yup.. that was a Tanduay 65 night.. :yesnod:
Not sure.. but may have been my father in laws birthday if I remember right :island14:
Franky the guy lower right in this photo does not like Nestea, and I don't like Coke, so when we drink with him we compromise and drink the 8'oclock orange drink mix with it.
Notice Tata is holding a pack of the orange mix

I fondly remember sitting around drinking with all of my BIL's in the "Province". Greatest bunch of guys ever. Too bad almost all of them have passed on now...

Looks like a friendly bunch of guys to drink with.. :seasix:
Drinking the small expensive San Miguel bottles I see....
What was in the picture? :island14:
Usually the beer drinkers here buy the liter size of Beer Na Beer, or Gold Eagle.
And most of the time they just use one glass and take turns passing it.
I made the rule at my house, everyone gets their own glass..
Besides being cleaner.. Franky is so slow when it's his turn we all have to wait on him.. dood is like a turtle.
