G and I are going to install it, but the plan was over Christmas break. Early shipping creates a challenge. I never expected it this fast.

Gonna have engine go from delivery truck to my Tundra, and then to the shop where it will be installed. One of the major points of this project was for G to get her hands dirty, so the Christmas break installation will still be on. Gonna do a fresh web page with pics and vids of her swapping the engine. :yesnod:

No. Car is sitting dead in the garage as it was the day it died. Old engine will go on a stand for the daddy/daughter project to rebuild...with a Miata in its sights. :yesnod:

Miata build with V8 is in the near future. Not necessarily her Miata. ;)

LS Miatas are all all over the place. Tons of them out there. Not too many LS7's due to cost.

Is this a track car? Is this a new crate engine or a rebuild?

I can't wait for her to drive this beast. At least she got to race it once under the old configuration. Back then she referred to it as a monster. Can't wait to get her analysis of the new configuration.

In the 8 years I have had this car I have let over 100 people take a hot lap in my car. THOSE days are over when this car is back running. WAY to much car for 90% of drivers, and quite frankly, I no longer want the wear and tear.

It's a track car, and the engine is a brand new build from Texas Speed Performance. Only the GM 7.0 L block is GM. Everything else is top notch race stuff.

2008 Z06, Stock GM LS7 Aluminum Block.

Build sheet attached. Price doesn't include the headers (no cats) and the cold air intake coming as well.

Some really nice parts here.. :yesnod:

Not sure what they are using for the rockers, since they are calling it their own.. is this a shaft system? or set up on studs?

427 Cubic Inches (427SB-LS7) is this LS based on a small block? or is that something new GM has come up with?

I suspect it is something new but am a bit out of the loop these days.

CertInsaneC5

Not new Tim. The LS7 series block is what the Z's had in them. His just has all the goodies you would want on a racing engine. :cert:

island14
11-07-2015, 10:07pm
That's what I'm getting at.. as I thought it was a different block completely.

Is there an advantage to using them instead of the older SB?

I am about 15 or more years behind on technology. :D

CertInsaneC5
