Ok, if we are limiting it to car stories...
( since I did this in 1978, the statute of limitations has expired )
Came thru the small town of Mainland Pa about midnight on a Friday night doing about 60 in the 35 mph zone in my '67 Mustang fastback ( 289 4 speed ). The local cop was about 30' from his car looking around a business parking lot.
As I passed, he started running to his car. I took the next left which was about a 1/4 mile away. I down shifted to 2nd and floored it.
Just a slight bend to the right about a 1/2 mile up the road but I kept it hammered and flat shifted to 3rd and then 4th. Another 1-1/2 miles up the road was the road I lived on.
I hung a left on my road, I crested the hill and only had to go a short distance to the driveway ( just over a 1/4 mile )
I shut off the car going into the driveway and pulled it in the garage. I jumped out and closed the garage door. As the door shut, the police cruiser with lights and siren going crested the hill and drove past.
I left the car at home for the rest of the weekend

We were doing this on North Front Street in Harrisburg. Right past the Mansion.
Used to be (1970s) where a lot of racing was done. Three lanes in one direction south to the bridges where you could bail into Cumberland County and the Harrisburg police wouldn't chase

Back in the 60s and 70s, it was all farm land where I grew up. Schoolhouse Rd was straight as an arrow and a favorite "drag strip" for the local racers.
Weekend nights you could hear them running thru the gears even though it was over a mile to that location. :cool1:

High School in So Cal in the 70's. You can't even imagine... my own kids couldn't even imagine (things are a lot more conservative today up here than back then). That's all I'm gonna say.
Only ticket I ever got was 95 in a 65 on I-15 headed for Las Vegas. When I told my folks what had happened (they had driven up a few days before), my mom looked at my dad and said... "See, I TOLD YOU you could get a ticket on that road for going that fast!"
Right then I knew I was off the hook.
