View Full Version : Dragon Run
Decided to take a mental health day tomorrow and take a little drive. Plan on taking off around 3:30 AM and heading to the dragon. Time to see how the SS does. I'll probably GoPro a run and show the wife how much fun she is going to miss. :hurray::hurray:

TVA has drained one of the lakes near to empty and it's been packed out there with lookie-lous. Leaf peepers are also out in force, totally not watching the road. Should be nice though. Had a ton of Nashville Vettes last weekend, some ATL exotics, a Challenger club and some misguided fools in King Midgets and Mini-Mokes.

We sort of think alike. I plan on heading out to the dragon Monday AM in the Cayman . 8 or 9 AM. 3:30 is for going to bed, not getting up.:D:D

I'm thinking about making a run Monday and Tuesday as well. This is my favorite time of the year for the Dragon. If you are going to be there during the weekend, make sure you are ON the dragon at sunrise. No traffic and fun as hell watching the fog break just as you get there.
Do the Cherohalla in the afternoon once the Drag gets too full of leaf lookers.
:D
Change of plans. Got caught up with some crap at work last night so I am pushing off the run. I'll probably head out past Tell City on IN 66 and catch some curves for a bit today. I almost made it a two day run but with rain tomorrow, I'll probably wait until the spring to head down there.

Did the dragon today. In the rain. Interesting drive. Mostly 2nd gear and some 3rd. Scenery was incredible. Hotel I was going to stay at had no wifi so I drove to Robinsonville (or something like that) and got a room. Bad news is, its another 30 minutes of twisty, curvy roads to get a beer. At night, in the rain. No beer for me tonight.:funnier::funnier:
