Your computer is not tuned for it, it's going to run like shit.

Worse gas mileage and no better performance? :P

No computer.

No way on earth would i pay $8.49/gallon; but out of curiosity, couldn't I fill it with the 100 octane and just adjust the timing?

The car still has to be tuned to accept race gas. :yesnod:

Theoretically, yes. You could throw some timing at it and let it rip.

Question is... how much timing. Pretty sure I wouldn't take a guess at it without a wideband.

I agree with Waco. It would run fine... but gain nothing.

EDIT: I just saw my response was pretty much identical to the 1 just before it. Could have saved myself some time by just posting :iagree:

Race fuel exhaust sure smells nice though.

Since we are on the subject... I do exclusively use the 91 ethanol free, and when I originally set the timing, I was using regular 87 octane. Would I gain anything from a retune?

You could give it a couple degrees advance. That should get you some power and some gas mileage. Just dont go too far and make it spark knock. In the old days we would tune them like that. Crank in the advance until it knocked or got hard to crank, then back it up 2 degrees.
