Yes, Burger King's black Halloween bun turns your poop green

The bun on Burger King's new Halloween Whopper might be black, but it'll have you seeing green on the other side of that experience.

Reports have surfaced that the black burger bun, which was a hit with Japanese consumers last year, will stir your stomach to create a green bowel movement, with shades ranging from neon to hunter green.

Call it curiosity-an abc13 staffer decided to try it.

"I noticed flecks of green in the bun itself," our colleague said. "I wondered if it was mold but for the sake of science, couldn't stop myself."

The end result: "Yep, it came out Frankenstein green."

Meteorologist Don Schwenneker at our sister station WTVD-TV also said the Halloween burger left him feeling "haunted."

"I ate this one and for two days was haunted by the color green," Schwenneker said on his Facebook page.

We're not the only ones to notice. On social media, the hashtag #greenpoop is starting to trend with people sharing their own encounters of the green kind:

Burger King tells ABC News the dark bun's color comes from the "smoky black pepper flavor of A.1. baked into the bun," and that it contains less than one percent food dye. The concentration of food dye in the bun meets Acceptable Daily Intake measurements approved by the Food and Drug Administration, the company says.

We reached out to Burger King for comment about the green poop claims, but we have not heard back from the company. We'll update this story as it unfolds.

When I drink a glass or two of Cabernet Sauvignon it does the same thing. What's the big deal?

I have experienced similar results after eating store bought cake or cupcakes with black icing.

I broke my healthy eating and gave in to the marketing hoopla. Wife and I ordered 2 Halloween WHoppers and a Red Velvet cake milkshake on Friday. I have to say it tasted just like the normal whopper...maybe a lil A1 flavor. I like whoppers...they aren't my favorite burger but better than anything McD's makes. The red velvet milkshake was delicious too. I'd never eat either again as I think that one meal was about 4300 calories (we had fries, onion rings, and a side of chicken fries too)... But was pretty tastey...

Yes...1 day later was a gelatinous pile of green goop on the outtake. :)

Customers who share the experience on this forum need to PM pictures of their green hued excrement to Knooger....

He can decide which pictures are run of the mill or exemplary enough to be shared with members of the forum. Of course the moderators should be able to share their enthusiastic support and help Knooger fairly pick the best of the lot.

(Only solid pieces please)

Or, you can just chug-a-lug a liter of prune juice and experience the amazing, flaming Technicolor diarrhea!

Blue Gatorade produces a nice shade...

I was on a Green Apple Gatorade kick and drank probably a gallon a day. I didn't make the connection but after about two weeks I found myself on WebMD trying to figure out why my S#!t was green. Scared the bejeebus out of me. I went off the Gatorade and everything went back to normal.
