I don't think I have ever seen a TV show with such graphic violence and gore before.

I guess you don't watch any HBO or Stars... Game of Thrones, and Spartacus were both way more gory then this show.

Overall, not a bad start... I had a hard time hearing the dialogue and understanding what some individuals were saying.

I didn't watch a whole lot of Spartacus since what I did see seemed to be a real sausage fest. I have watched every episode of GOT and there are some things in this show that surpass it
I don't have a problem with violence and gore especially when the story takes place in a violent time in history. I am just surprised at the level and detail being shown in a basic cable show

I watched part of one show of the Bastard Executioner, and ended up switching it off after the King dude had a bowel movement and bitched out his man-servant for wiping his ass roughly. I don't need to see that. And, the preceeding porking of the Queen doggy style before the big grunt-dump was a little overboard for regular basic/premium cable channels, which is more restrictive than pay channels mentioned above.
But as I said, I switched channels. All is good.
Man, I'm getting old. I sound like my (now-departed) Dad.
