I wonder why they aren't offering a smaller v8 than the 6.2? The small v8s get great mileage, better than the 6.:bilmem:
Hot looking rig!

Definitely better looking than it has been. Depending on the interior, I could actually drive one of those...

12.3@116mph for the SS automatic is pretty impressive! :seasix:
They shaved off 229lbs, so it makes sense, given the added power in addition to that.

Looks like it took a lot on interior styling cues from it's Corvette cousin, too.

I'm still not that crazy about the low-slung roofline, but I guess it grows on you....
Looks like a Mustang and a Challenger had a kid.

I see some C-7 genes in the C-pillar, too. :yesnod:

I get a kick out of how much HP the V6 makes compared to even recent Camaro V8s.

still not all that retro looking; but I agree... better than the first attempt.
The lines almost look Holden'ish... good thing :yesnod:

Even that 2.0 liter turbo four-banger is kickin' ass with with 18-inch tires and six-speed manual: 5.4 seconds 0-60 mph, 14.0-second quarter mile at 100 mph.
I would love to transplant that joker in my '09 Poncho Vibe GT. It makes 158 hp. from its 2.4 liter normally-aspirated four.

The turbo 4 banger is faster 1/4 mile than my '95 Z/28 was.
The V6 would almost be a tie with my '04 GTO (LS1)...
It's f'n crazy how fast cars have become in the last decade.

Any idea on longevity or repair rate? I ask due to wondering if it runs high rpms.

I'd wager at least 100,000 miles under warranty. Oil and turbo technology have come a long way over the last few decades.

I know absolutely nothing about that engine but given the current environment, I would think (hope) that they made it damn near bulletproof.
...but then again I never thought they would put a heat sink blower on a "track ready" car like they did with the Z06 so who knows.

Just hope it doesn't come with Corvette tail lights.:DD

Thanks. I do give credit to Ford and GM for making a strong V6. I also hope the engines are durable as well as they are high in HP.
You just never know what the engineers will do at GM or other mass produced vehicle. I saw a post recently of a Subaru with the oil filter surrounded by exhaust pipe(s). Now imagine the poor owner laying down on the concrete and playing the game Operation to get the filter off.
