....it seems their target demographic is old, horny Jewish women. How many of them could be around that need new cars? Maybe this is why sales are down at VW here in the US.

Every time I see those commercials I have to ask..WTF were they thinking?

Funny thing. I was thinking about starting a thread about these commercials. Creepy and annoying to say the least. And they must be spending a fortune on them. I can't watch anything on TV without seeing them.

I'll admit it, "model rear end event" was funny the first time...

They are not as bad as the catheter commercials.

My favorite "not the VW" commercial.

:iagree:

Non-network spots are the worst. :ack:

When it comes to lame, idiotic commercials, there are dozens that are higher up the list than the VW spot. At least this one is reasonably funny and it doesn't try to insult your intelligence.

Being from the NY area, I think they're hilarious. Reminds me of so many women.

You know, all these years and I never knew this was that significant of an issue in the US...

The marketing agencies for drug companies and medical suppliers have "created" a need for all sorts of things now. They want everyone to have the mindset that they're on their deathbed and need all these tchochkies to remain sentient. Oxygen, motorized chairs, easy entry bathtubs...we're being made into an ambulatory society. I find it hard to believe that many people are breaking down that quickly.

The latest problem is braces. Everyone now needs a knee brace, an elbow brace, a wrist brace, etc. And GOD FORBID you should just go to the drug store and buy one when you can call an 800 number and get charged ten times what they should cost for the same thing.

Oh man, it sure would have been different, that's for sure! However, as crazy and dysfunctional her family is, they are some of the nicest and most giving people I've had the pleasure to know :yesnod:

If only I could find a brace with copper in it.... :wtf: Like that would help anything....Talk about insulting ones intelligence.

I know a guy that had to rip out one of those walk in tubs when he bought a used house.
Pretty soon, the CL market will be booming with those.

I routinely get 700+miles a tank and almost 50mpg in my Passat TDI SEL. It has a back seat the size of a 7-series BMW, looks great, a DSG transmission, drives great, and has had no problems to speak of whatsoever. VW is definitely doing something right. :seasix:

Not bad, I can get 600 miles out of one tank in my F150 EcoBoost.

If it didn't have a 32 gallon tank I'd be dancing on table tops.

Dieter the diesel just had his 60K service done. Other than the cost of the 40k service, zero complaints. Comfortable, reliable, efficient, and that nice German "buttoned down" feeling.

*unfortunately, he relocated recently with my daughter and her new hubby. He drives about 120 miles/day, so he's taking over the Jetta and Mrs. Bear is enjoying her new ride.
