I got it in my head that I needed a 2500 and wanted diesel. I currently have the 1500 Big Horn hemi. I started by driving the all blacked edition of the 2500 Cummins diesel mega cab and I drove several other colors. The truck is very roomy inside and looks great sits great but no dual exhaust out the rear which I really like. They drive well I like the stout suspension here was my real deal breaker it did not have the pep off the line that I like. I drove several to see if there was a difference and there was no difference if you step on it while your doing 40 it gets up and goes well. Remember I'm coming from a hemi.

Fast forward to Thursday went to the dealership where I purchased my bighorn met with the salesman that I delt with for the bighorn told him what I wanted but was disappointed in the things I mentioned above. He asked me if I drove the eco diesel and I said no. He went and got one white laramie fully loaded. I test drove it and here are my opinions. Engine quieter than the 2500 cummins it is a V 6 takes off the line like my hemi, 3.92 gears in the eco diesel. Dual exhaust out the rear and great diesel mileage. Has the air shocks and the ride is fantastic and I mean fantastic. I was very impressed and bought it. I do not tow anything so the 2500 was just something to buy because I got a wild hair. I hope this runs as flawless as my big horn did. People are saying that they get 32 to 35 MPG of diesel I find that hard to believe but time will tell. Even if you don't buy one you need to test drive one with air suspension on all 4 corners you will be amazed. You turn this truck on and you barely can hear the diesel engine. I will post pics after I put on the step rail on later today.

If you drove it with the air suspension you would buy it. This impresses me for a 6000 lb truck.

That little 3 ft bed makes the truck cute.

What are you going to use when you need a real truck?

Just sayin'......

Pet peeve of mine, as if you can get away with saying anything and add "just saying" to the end of it. If you want to make an asshole comment, I have no problem with that, but don't try to weasel out and say just sayin'.

Boy that sounds like a great all around truck. I'll have to check into those. Great mileage!

Wonder what the 4 wheel drive version gets for mileage, and if that trans is available (8sp) on the 4x4?

Fiat, I think.

A joint venture GM, Fiat and VM Motori I think an Italian company. The motor has been used in Europe for a long time

Not a Cummins though.

Test drove the Cummins because that's what I set out to buy and this engine runs quieter, faster better diesel mileage. Truck runs awesome and I don't get impressed with cars anymore. Not as fast as my hemi but close. I was disappointed with the Cummins.

Blow me. That work better for you?

Maybe it's the angle in the pics because it looks like maybe 5'6", not 6+. My Ford SD is a crew short bed with a 6 3/4 ft bed, but it looks a lot longer than just 5" more. Weird. :confused5:

FYI.... I tend to use the "just sayin' " instead of the big grin smilie thingy, so it was never intended as an asshole comment. When I make an asshole comment it's pretty obvious. :cert:

It's the angle and the 5'7 is too short.

I just bought a 2015 EcoDiesel Laramie a little over a month ago. Pretty much the same setup as you have. Have about 3,000 miles on it now and just got back from my first road trip. Drove up to northern Wisconsin empty and averaged right at 28 MPG. Drop back towing a 5,000 pound trailer plus about 1,000 pounds of weight in the bed/crew cab. Averaged 16 MPG on the return trip. Truck definitely knew the trailer was back there, but definitely had enough power to get up to speed on the interstate and rolled at about 75 MPH the entire way back.

All and all, awesome setup. Be ready for a ton of people to stop and ask you questions about the EcoDiesel.

I've got the 5'7 bed on mine. Little short but works fine for my needs.
