Is there anyone here that can get rid of the brown back ground, and make it just a white back ground leaving only the black text and logos for me?

I have been listing a bunch of old manuals the past few days on ebay that I no longer need as I have already scanned them, and this one sold in less that a few hours I think.

I probably should make reprints of this.. :yesnod:

I can work with that.. THANKS!

Just curious how you did that so I can do it myself in the future? :island14:

I can clean up B&W stuff pretty easy with paint, but colors.. I get lost.

Here's another quick attempt, not quite a pure white background.

I agree. It was a little challenge to clean up the grainy background.

Thanks to both of you!

Toms larger one will print better, and I can easily clean up the white with paint, but the second one is close enough I think for print already.

How do you go about removing the back ground color? :island14:

I will have more of these that I want to do and don't want to be bugging people here, so need to learn how to do this myself.

How do you go about removing the back ground color? :island14:On this I think I started by turning it either b/w or grayscale, then pretty much experimented with exposure/brightness/contrast/saturation adjustments, trying to get the bg as white as possible while keeping the text as black and crisp as possible. Then touched up a few noticeable dust specs that remained.

I'm sure there are other methods, and this could no doubt be polished up more, just a matter of how much time one wants to spend on it.

Thanks Pete.. I think mine views different?

I have been working on another cover since my last post, have no clue what I'm doing.. and almost wore out the go back option, but made some progress..

Some things that I can't figure out I go back to paint to do..

I somehow screwed up with google on my website and lost 90% of my traffic recently..

It's time to go back to ebay to make ends meet for awhile.

Nothing..

You can have it... maybe use it to stand on when ride your horse. :D

It disturbs me a bit - but in a good way, - that I see what you did there. :island14:

I like my horses to be JRH NBR, just right height, no box required.

For those that missed it..

You should get a kick out of this.

At first I thought it was something from one of those Hangover Movies as the guy looks a lot like that one dude I thought. :island14:

But after a moment, I realized it wasn't... and that guy was for real..

And not like his story wasn't bad enough.. his wife caught him and wanted to watch... WTF???

OK... so think about it..

Do you think he just closed his eyes and pretended she wasn't there.. :island14:

Or does he just look her in the eye and grin at her while he is getting busy? :D

Carburetters.

That drives me nutts...

Sometimes for listings I use both spellings for stuff like this, as the UK guys use them mostly.

What version of Photoshop? I assume Windows - CS5?

Also - elaborate on how you screwed up with Google -

I have the CS4.. and have no clue how to use it.

But did figure out a few simple moves by trial and error last night and fixed up another cover.

Back when I was more into making print manuals a few years back I had a guy in the city who did all of this type of work for me.

Also - elaborate on how you screwed up with Google

I will get right back to you on this.. and thanks for asking. It's a long story and will take awhile for me to write up, but I'm pulling my hair out over here trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.. :(

With your website development experience, and some of the other computer guys here.. maybe we can figure out what do do.

I do know that I need to do something fast, as going back to the US for income is not an option to me, as I do not want to be away from my family.

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for the help.. :cert:

Cleaned up the first one a bit and was going to use it, but Tom has a bigger one (as Knooger pointed out).. so went with that after a quick cleanup of the background white.

Finished product..
