Value wise I have no idea, I am not good at British cars, I would say no more than 7 grand?? Otherwise I have always really liked the TR6's.

Looks like fair condition, no more than $12K, much less if it's rusty or has had body damage. As you probably know, Tr-6s are prone to rust. Replacement body panels are very expensive, and frame rust is also expensive to repair, dangerous if you don't repair.
Two thoughts: I would not settle for a car without overdrive, and those dual exhausts are too loud.

Any particular area? I know where to look on midyear vettes, vw, trucks, etc...I'm just not familiar with the problem areas for these.
Floor pan? Mounts?
They are pretty firm at $10k. I would only be interested to enjoy it a bit and try to flip for $

Look everywhere for rust: Floor pans (the carpet lifts up for easy inspection), trunk (particulary the spare tire storage), rocker panels, under the battery (this area often has so much rust it's a wonder how it holds the battery up), everywhere under the car, and the frame. If the underside of the car has a fairly recent application of undercoating, there's rust underneath. Removing undercoating to find rust is a dirty, slow job.
The frame has to be almost rust-free for the car to be safe to drive. Also check to front and rear suspension to make sure there's nothing about to give away.

Bingo > Frame.
I have owned two, one pristine another with more rust than you have ever seen (bought for parts).
That car is worth no more than 7K.
Get a compression test.
Seats!!!

Under the battery like Spence says first. On all the upper body seams where the fenders meet the tub. Under the trunk weatherstrip. Floors in back of the seats... there is structure there for mounting the rear suspension and soft metal there is a deal breaker. Inner rocker panels. In the wheel wells; look for evidence of welded in patches if the fenders have been repaired/replaced at some point. The engine compartment should be painted body color....if you care about originality. Proper heater hoses are green in color, not black. Boot cover looks OK, how does the top and frame look? Cloth top with glass rear window or vinyl? Lined or unlined top? Good tops are expensive. Pull the seat covers and be sure the frames are not rusted into powder... I have seen seat tracks which disintegrated when poked with a screwdriver. First and second gear synchros are tender in these... be sure they work properly.
I could go on but if you get serious about this one PM me and we'll talk some more.

Frankly,
If I was in the OP's position, the primary decision is "Do I really feel THIS car is for me"?
If so, arrange for a professional Pre Purchase Inspection, known as PPI.
Results will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.
Well worth the cost.

That looks like it would be a fun car. With that engine in it probably is quite the little scooter!

Understand about just having to have a TR6 but it comes at a real cost..

That's what Borat was talking about when he was looking for a car with the optional "chick magnet."

I've always liked the styling. I should just buy one and get it out of my system. I like this one, but he won't budge on the price. I can live without it for awhile.

I doubt you could buy a good example, restore to this level, and upgrade the motor for that price. :seasix: Nice car.
