My friend Ken was in work today and he was telling me about the fire at his house. http://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/off-topic/86048-you-can-find-anything-youtube-watch-my-friends-house-burn-morning.html
He's normally reserved and doesn't curse but he said " I've never been around so many freaking assholes at once" :cuss:
After the fire company got a handle on the fire, the Fire Chief came over and told him he would be hounded by sales people and insurance people trying to get work from him. He was told to take the business card and just say "Thank you" and nothing else. These worthless POS are trying to get a cut of the insurance money and will attempt to say they have a verbal contract with you.
The first one came up to him while the house was still burning trying to help him maximize his insurance payout. ( they fail to mention that they get a cut of the payout )
He said he had a pocketful of business cards by 10 am ( 911 call was just after 6am and the first saleshole got to him at 7am)
The pushiest one walked up to him when Ken and his wife were standing in the next door neighbor's yard. He said "Thanks for the card" numerous times but he just kept up his hard sell. The neighbor's wife got in between them and told him "You are on private property, you have to leave NOW".
He said " I'm not talking to you ( directed at the owner of the property he was standing on ), I'm talking to him"
The fire police literally grabbed the guy by the arm and escorted him off the property.
