I stumbled on this while researching the Honda 750 Four.
The Prototype (http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/news/prototype)
I've been lusting after this one my friend has for sale. A '71 model.

I've always had a yearning for the CBX, but my motorcycle days are never to return :(

Same here - no more bikes. In the early 80's, I had a Yamaha RD-350 2-stroker.

I had a Honda CL-70, a Kawasaki 400 of some sort (it was more or less my Dad's but I rode it more), and my Suzuki GS-550 that was a rocket ship. And then I quit riding because I liked living better.

The prototype in the article is one of four hand built '69. That may be the only complete running one in the world, hence the large price :yesnod:
As far as the '71 you may be interested in, much easier to get parts and a lot more affordable. :D

Here is the only pic of my bike. I don't even remember the exact year. :(

Not a Honda , but one cool bike I had was a 1976 Kawasaki KH1 550 two stroke. In racing circles it was nicknamed "The Widowmaker" by those who ride them. Very fast but also very heavy. I also had an LTD Kaw that was a great cruiser.

The '76 was a 500. Pollution controls took what used to be a fast cycle and slowed it down in '76. More restrictive air cleaner, exhaust and altered ports made the last year of the 500 triple a little slower. The positive aspect was the '76 had the best frame of the 500's :yesnod:
Most folks who had the KH500 ditched the air cleaner and exhaust. Now those parts bring good money for the folks who want to restore them.
