View Full Version : Meaningless observations...perspective

I have a Galaxy Note that I use for quick reference and email and is usually close by. I occasionally watch YT videos etc on it and realized that holding it at a comfortable distance the viewing area is the same as my 55 inch TV across the room.

I grabbed my laptop that I use extensively for Netflix and with it on my lap, it is huge in comparison to the TV across the room.

Prior to being laid off, I was in the market for a 70inch TV and now I realize that I have gotten so used to my laptop, I would need a projector and screen to get an equivalent image size.

In the end, I think even when I get back to work, I'm going to leave things "as is" because from a perspective standpoint, the TV I want would be a visual step down.

That is all.

For your time and attention, I give you this...

Hey, that's a nice boat. I wonder how much it costs to run per day.

That is a nice boat I think.

But hard to see it if that stupid blonde chic won't get out of the way.

In the end, I think even when I get back to work, I'm going to leave things "as is" because from a perspective standpoint, the TV I want would be a visual step down.

The 37" TV I won is 28 inches away on the desk... my 15" laptop is 16" or so away and they appear to be about the same size. When I first got the TV, if I was looking at the laptop, and things were moving on the TV, I got motion sick, because the field of view was so big.

Three years later, I'm used to it and if I were to replace it I'd like to go 60" at 28"/30" away... full cinema experience, right at my desk...

Unfortunately, the living room TV, a 55" screen, is all the way across the room from mah Lay-z-boy, easily 8' away and it feels like I'm watching the headrest screen in an Escalade, two cars ahead of me in traffic...
