Heh, you want something else crazy? We deployed to Iraq in '04 and did our job well. We were turning aircraft faster than many other places as told by the a/c crews. Meanwhile, the squadron is up for an inspection. An inspection gives the higher-ups a grade on how well we can go to war and do our job. So, we get back from Iraq and go through an inspection. At one point, I told one of the inspectors, "Hey man, you guys should've checked us out in Iraq". The reply was thought provoking in many ways. I don't remember the exact wording but it went along this, "We can't do that because that's a war zone and we just can't measure you effectively."
