3-Year Old Toddler Snags 'Parking Ticket' From Canadian Police

The photo of 3-year old Declan Tramley went viral recently as it showed a Canadian constable handing him a ticket for "illegal parking."

A photo of a 3-year old Canadian toddler immediately went viral across the Internet after Halifax police posted it on its Twitter and Facebook accounts. The image showed Declan Tramley's priceless reaction after learning he was getting a ticket for illegal parking. The local constable, Shawn Currie, together with the boy's father, arranged to stage the joke last weekend as the unsuspecting toddler enjoyed a ride on his toy motorbike around the Halifax Pier in Nova Scotia, The Inquisitr reported. When the little red motorcycle was parked on the wrong spot, Constable Currie - who is a member of the police community response team - approached the erring resident and promptly issued a fake ticket. The boy, who looked distressed, sat in his bike, clearly dismayed with the unfortunate turn of events.

The photograph was initially posted by the boy's parents online, but the Halifax Regional Police took interest in the story and shared it in its social media accounts as part of an effort to bolster the police department's image. Constable Currie pointed out that they welcome different stories - such as Declan's "brush" with the law - those that show the nice side of policing, according to Today. The police warned the public to "remember, no motorcycle parking in the circle by the ferry terminal. This ruthless biker was caught yesterday!" in its now popular Twitter post. The story was then "retweeted" and shared numerous times on Facebook and was picked up by several news organizations (see video below). While many were amused, some netizens were fooled in thinking that the boy was actually issued a real ticket, prompting the police to explain about the ruse.

Let me tell you a story of kids being pulled over that isn't a joke. I came home mid day a couple of years ago to get something from the house. As I pulled into the subdivision, a local cop had two kids pulled over in a go-cart. I was home for at least 20 minutes or so, and when I left, that traffic stop was still ongoing.

When I was a kid, living in suburbia, with a YZ80 dirt bike, I rode it on the city streets all the time, through 2 subdivisions, and across a couple busy boulevards to get to the open fields and trails. Though I was never caught, I was far from the only kid in town doing it, and some did have unpleasant police encounters. Walking those things on the sidewalk just wasn't cool. :Jeff '79:

~55 years ago, just outside Wash DC, we used to run go carts on the roads, a particular horse shoe road was GREAT, as the downhill ends were T into a cross street, the winter sands were washed down hill to the intersections, so we raced around the loop and into the corner and cut the wheel, doing the OEM of these import drivers.....wooden carts built with lawn mower engine, horizontal shaft, centrifugal clutches, wheelbarrow wheels in back, no helmets, no belts, no nuttin' honey......

:rofl::rofl::lol:
