So I've got a huge melon for a head, fitted had size of 7 5/8. My head gets HOT during the night and I sweat like a mofo. Anyone have a cooling pillow or can suggest one?

We just bought two of those bamboo pillows they are advertising on TV. They are cooler and provide very good support - only been a week though!! :seasix:
We bought ours at a Drug Emporium store. For the two, they were about $10.00 more than the buy one get one free TV and on line ads.

Not that long ago. I've ALWAYS been 'warm blooded.' Just a little slow on realizing there is probably a product to help with that:)

We keep the house at 77 maybe +- a degree, and so at night, we have a fan we turn on lo speed to give extra air circulation, I wrap a bath towel over my pillow, and not even bother with a pillow case....wife and I keep our hips down covered with the comforter/blanket but just put a sheet over our top sections.....
we tried a 'MyPillow.com lasted about a week with us, returned for credit, no problem.....
not bothered about any other options....it's not the pillow per Se.....I take a pee pill for prostrate, and so get up anytime from 3-6 to pee.....
TTWIG.....age 71.....

We keep a floor stand ~16" fan on lo speed blowing over our feet and of course that may vary a bit with you guys, but give it a shot.....for one thing she and I suffer from that ear ringing crap....tenitis and the woosh of the air kinda covers up the ringing, and helps HER sleep anyway, I not noticed much one way or another except the cooling effect.....
we blow it across the bottom of the bed from her side to mine, sometimes angled up a tad and I get achy with arthritis, and that don't take a whole lot to do.....

Holy sh*t. If I kept the house that hot at night I would wake up in a puddle of sweat. :ack:
I have done much research (thanks to Nest thermostat) and I slowly scale down the temp from 75 when the sun goes down all the way to 71 at night. It costs somewhere around 30 minutes of additional A/C runtime in the summer here in Ohio weather. I'll gladly pay that small amount more not to be f'n miserable at night.
As far as pillows, I have a Soft-tex "cool" pillow, not sure what model, but it is pretty good. I swap 2 through the night so there is always a cool spare within reach if I wake up. :D

71º? Sheesh. I set the a/c anywhere from 62º-65º, depending on outside temp.

Here in Florida, it's a humidity thing, not a temp thing, house is really dry at 77 in summer over night....so the fan helps a LOT....
much colder than say 75, and I not getting up in the AM, backbone hurts enough already.....

Get the wife an electric blanket for her alone.

Probably could have gotten them cheaper from island14.

Sleep naked. We run the house at 74 degrees from the time a/c goes on until we need heat. 2600sf, two separate central a/c units, ambient was 95 today... all month for that matter and we are all electric even well water... expect this month's electric bill to be about $120.00. We tried fecking with programmable thermostats and temperature swapping day/night. It is cheaper for us to "set it and forget it".

If you are hot at night, NEVER use a foam pillow. It used to make my head sweat so much I'd wake up wet. Get an old fashioned down pillow.....pure heaven.

More than you know.
Sleep researchers have found that a few things make for optimal sleep. Along with regular patterns and times, the temperature in your bedroom should be cool...around 65-67 degrees. This is what signals your body that it's time to sleep and repair. You might also try a cool shower before bed to lower your core temperature a bit.
I'm sleeping tons better now that my bedroom is set to 67 at night.
I keep the house at 78 upstairs and 75 down and still have two Filipinos that stay wrapped up in blankets.

My thermostat is set at 80 at night while we sleep and 79 when we're at home and awake. I can't afford the electric bill to keep the house any cooler!!! Too freakin' hot in Alabama to set my thermostat any lower than 77 'cause the A/C would never shut off!
I just keep flippin' my pillow over every hour or so.

Tell you what, Bubba, you need to first off replace any single pane aluminum windoze with modern vinyl lo E 1/2 inch thermal double pane glass.....dropped the temp in my western facing house open to the PM sun front of L/R went down nearly 20f, and now we have a deck and cover over it so even better, I did ALL the windows in my house for a Grand even, course I did the install myself......you also need a white roof....you can paint the shingles like I did, and drop your attic temps by over 40f......my HVAC ducts run through the attic, stupid of me to leave it that way on the last go round, should have redone the entire setup and built a sofitt all around the front of the house, to get the ducts under the sheetrock, ......:seasix::hurray:

I feel ya. With a new house and 2 kids in daycare our budget doesn't have a lot of wiggle room. So we partially keep it that temp to not go broke:) Also, the new house is REALLY well insulated so it doesn't feel that hot. I'd rather it be much cooler but my wife is a wuss. And she scares me. So she gets to keep the temp where she wants!
FYI: Have a good fan and it keeps me cool all night but my melon sweats like crazy.
