I'm think they meant a single axle with two center sections, as it only has two rear tires.

It would be really ill handling if each engine only powered one wheel and one engine was down on power.

Two clutches and drive shafts do make sense though.

I grew up at Dayton Speedway as a kid every weekend and watched many races from the infield. I don't think I ever sat in the stands there that I can remember.

Dad had a Jeep sales in the 60's and used Jeeps to push off the sprint cars and worked along with Johnny Vance to promote the shows on TV as a promotion every week.

Dayton Speedway closed years ago, but I have a lot of great memories from that place.

There's quite a few twin engined vehicles out there. Lots of tractor pull tractors, but they are usually in line hooked by huge chains

Tommy Ivo built a 4 engine drag car back in the 60s. I built a lot of model cars back then and really wanted this one. Ivo talks about it and how it works in this vid.
