...that still has a 3 wire alternator post up a pic of your electrical connections?

I have (if standing on the drivers side looking toward the nose):

Brown wire to connector on left.
Black wire to connector on right.

These have been bubba'd with standard spade connectors on mine, I need to get the original style 'packard' plastic plug for it. Just want to make sure I'm hooked up right...

Then of course ground to the bracket, and the red wire with the ring terminal to the stud.

(73 small block btw)

Damn that's big!.....if that doesn't help you, just use your google with the right description with pics on the end of it to bring it up.....as you probably know. ORRRRRR......you could ask over at CF in the C1&2 forum or the C3 forum for a pic of what you need. Those guys are always very helpful from my experience.

Jeff, PERFECT.

Thank you. I have it right.

I'm going to order a harness plug from ebay and splice it in. Wire color is different, but as long as it goes to the right place, all good. :seasix:

Parts houses have those connectors on hand, the red wire is always hot, the brown/maybe white wire is switched and runs through the light on the dash.....

the red wire picks up the 12 volts from the fixed on red in the harness....it tell the alt to put out what voltage, the switched one tells the regulator to turn off....and the reg will ground it to light the dash bulb if it's not putting out....

I'd look for a shop manual on eBay. It might have schematics for the electrical.
