View Full Version : The Success Of Some People Is Rubbing Off On Me

It was a power play week.
Good things are happening.
1) I have a contract in hand for another 4.5 acre estate lot that I'm selling and I got nearly my asking price. I did get what I wanted and no realtor.. :seasix:
2) I bought this place on contingency that I sell my house. $146k and no realtor. It's a killer deal considering the guy wanted $165k. I offered $142k and he said $149, I said $145k and it landed at $146k. Saweet!!!
24 Pinegrove Park, Hamburg, NY 14075 is Off Market | Zillow (http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/24-Pinegrove-Park-Hamburg-NY-14075/30347573_zpid/)
So it needs tile & wood floors, granite or quartz in the bathrooms and kitchen, and some kitchen re configuring. No problem. It doesn't really need them, we want them.
There are three really interested parties in my house. That would be the topper if we got some offers....
If I sell this joint and have no mortgage, that would be great!!!
Gimme some house selling Karma guys and gals!!!
btw... Wanna buy a lot??

That house would make a great man cave when you need to get away from the wimmenz. ;)
You could always rent it out to VB'ers to party in. You could have a great house warming if you can get Sea Six, LATB and Thomas together.
Invite Sanchez cause the Messicans always have the hookups with the hookers & blow.

Wanna buy a lot? Two words... lake effect. It was 97 degrees here today with a 112 heat index, still better than snow.

Then he would have to have it fumigated and remodeled again. :Jeff '79: That's if they didn't burn it down during the manfest.

Got that right Holmes.
I'm setting up for the 8 month southern tour and the 4 month northern stint.
Hopefully the wife will cut the cord when we retire and will want to stay down there permanently and just visit up here occasionally.

I wouldn't allow them in the barn. The house is one thing, but the barn would be off limits. :D

LATB... bring a boat and get some downriggers and fish for giant lake trout. Hunt in the Adirondacks and kill a native, wild, never raised in a fenced enclosure 275 pound whitetail. Bring the pup and hunt ringneck pheasant in a field fragrant with drying vegetation, or wild partridge in a hardwood copse, or Canada or Snow geese in pit blinds in a corn field. Ice fish for 40 inch long Northern Pike using braided 60 pound test and retrieved using only your hands. Go trail riding on a snow machine in a foot of fresh powder snow. Lots of really excellent things can be experienced in upper New York state... I just cannot live in the northeast any more.

Been there, done most of that, sans hunting. As a 25-38 year old young buck, it's a lot of fun. After that, the cold just gets to you the older that you get.

I know Jeff but these are all excellent reasons to visit and experience a different area and culture. I still go back to Massachusetts (on the Vermont border) every October to hunt upland birds with family...wouldn't miss it because I really miss the season here.

:iagree:
There ain't nothing better than getting the down riggers down in Lake Ontario at the foot of the Niagara river and coming away with 50 lbs of salmon fillets...
You fight a salmon or a big lake trout and you know that you've been in a fight.:yesnod:

So exactly what is wrong with boiled corned beef with cabbage, carrots and potatoes? Apple pie? McDonald's? For what it is worth, Poutine and mayonnaise are the two worst things ever to be combined with fried potatoes, so there...:)

LOL! Poutine is the greatest.
Boiled corned beef and cabbage sounds pretty bland to me. I hate apple pie.
I like being able to go to authentic Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Jamaican etc... restaurants.
Not to mention the specialty markets that come along with them.

We have those here in the South as well, along with Thai, Vietnamese, French, Creole, Moroccan, Greek and just about whatever else you can think up. All run and mostly staffed by natives of the respective Nations... have you been led to believe that America is not also a "melting pot" country?

Party, Jeff's barn. Set up a couple poles, get some bitches, and blast the notes. :cert:
Invite Sea Bass, LATB, and Rotor so they can keep each other company while the normal people rock out and do rails off the bitches thighs.

Great news Jeff. Enjoy the free time in the new place. It looks like you will live on a golf course. Time to work on your game for the Winter golf season in Florida.
It’s great to be home after year-long Florida house swap (Buffalo, NY- Fort Myers, Fl)

That's why the snow birds do what they do.
We don't want to live down there year round, just when it's freezing cold up here.
My parents actually go down to Bonita in November, come back for Christmas, and go back until March or April. Seems like a good plan .... :yesnod:

Thanks Jeff.
From the financial reports I have been reading the snow bird generation will end over the coming years. To cost to maintain two households is getting more prohibitive. That's my issue. I can afford both homes now. Looking forward to property taxes, heat ,electric and other yearly cost and I estimate my home in NH will cost double to maintain from what it costs now .

Yep, that's why I'm making this move now at 50 yrs old.
Downsizing to a very affordable town home for the last 12 working years before I retire. The money that I'll save will be substantial, just in mortgage, heat, electric, tax, and insurance payments, etc.
I'll either rent for 5 months or buy. I don't know yet.:cert:

My plan ins in 3-5 years when our Daughter is married and planing to have kids is to "Invest" in a home with her that has an in law apartment. With the 25-30K year we save each year over that time we could get someplace nice not to far from Hampton beach.
