I had one in my right knee awhile back which burst and caused a big hematoma. Hurt like hell! Now I have one in the left, and I go in Tuesday for an ultrasound guided aspiration. The cure sounds worse than the ill... anyone in VB land have experience with needles in the knees?

:seeya:

In '02 I tore my left ACL in half. I had to wait about 6 weeks for the swelling to go down and to strengthen the surrounding muscles before reconstructive surgery.

I was getting my knee drained 2 or 3 times a week. ( bigger needles too ) I actually looked forward to it since it felt so much better afterwards.

Just relax ( don't tense up ) and everything will go smoothly. :yesnod:

Nah... just hung like one. Actually these are caused by fluid in the joint; "water on the knee". Evidently the amount of fluid exceeds the available space makes this "pouch" extend from the joint. The knee pops and snaps as I walk and the entire lower leg swells over the course of the work day. A major PIA

Thanks. It would be easier to take if the sonic tech were a hottie but NO; he's not... and the doc is no spring chicken either.

I've been there. Lasted about 6 months. Hurt to all get-out. Surgery was a possible option, but fortunately it eventually healed.
