We just started our Las Vegas vacation and splurged for an upgrade. What a disgusting POS. Rims were black, mud everywhere. Car has been in multiple accidents, but we managed to make it passible as a rental. Hertz should give me a discount.
All of the scuffs and scratches that I marked on the checkout sheet, I was able to remove.

It'd be nice to have that much spare time.

The only time I ever tried to clean up a rental car was about 25 years ago in Jax FL. Mr Hertz gave me a brand new Camry with something like 8 or 9 miles on it.
Met some people for dinner at Hooters on the Riverwalk. Had two beers and some shrimp. I was staying at a hotel up 95 by the airport Just as I get off 95 I realize I am going to puke so I haul ass into the hotel parking lot and open the door while I am still moving.
Puked all over the door panel. Went up to my room and grabbed a couple of wet towels to wipe it down as best as I could and left the windows open all night
I was up all night with stuff coming out either end. I'm sure it was the shrimp
Anyways, the next morning I turned that car in and fully expected to get a letter from Hertz but never did

I'd have cleaned up the rental under these conditions. The smell of warm puke makes me, puke. :D

Bill them. When I was given a loaner for my old van it was low on brake fluid, the wipers were JUNK and the tires were low on pressure. Not to mention the car was just filthy. Fixed all of the above and presented them with a bill upon return for 50 bucks with pictures proving what I did was necessary for SAFETY reasons. I got 2 free oil changes with tire rotations a thank you as well as a manager talk letting me know that the person responsible for prepping the loaners would be getting a written warning.
