Baby Born on Virginia River Crossing

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Jun 10, 2015, 3:14 PM ET

A Virginia couple's baby was so eager to enter the world that she was born on a river ferry on the way to the hospital.

Media outlets report that Kayla and Jonathan Cline's daughter, Emmaleigh Jane, was born Wednesday morning on the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.

Jonathan Cline used a flashlight to illuminate the darkened interior of the couple's pickup truck as he delivered the baby with help from Virginia Department of Transportation employees and others on the James River crossing.

Kayla Cline says the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck. She said her husband was able to unwrap it, and the couple nestled the newborn in pillowcases for the trip to Williamsburg.

Jonathan Cline said Emmaleigh, who weighed in at 6 pounds and 12 ounces, is doing well.

On the plus side, at least the delivery didn't cost the couple what, $ 10,000 or so?
