Awesome story, too bad it sat like that for so long though.
True story. :yesnod:
Client of my wife is a Corvette guy, older gentleman. First time we met with him we went over to his house. Low and behold a PERFECT 61 Corvette was sitting in the driveway.
I'm like :wow: OMG. Start talking to him about mine and he pulls me aside and says he wants to show me something...
Opens the Garage and there is an all original 57 Fuelie 3 Speed sitting in there. I about shit a brick, my wife was rolling her eyes and laughing. :Jeff '79:
MAN CRUSH! :funnier:
Here is a link to his 61 that was in Super Chevy Magazine. :seasix:
1961 Chevrolet Corvette - Vette Magazine (http://www.superchevy.com/features/vemp-0103-1961-chevrolet-corvette/)
He's a great guy. Gave me an original 73 Shop Manual. :yesnod:

kept hitting on some blonde .....car did not impress her one damn bit....bitch.....

Wow, that car is awful!
Does the term, Barn Find, actually add value in this case? Poor car looks like it was used as a toilet for rats and squirrels.

You might get a couple of decent pieces for man-cave furniture and that's about it.

I like it...but, agree that it is a money pit. I would clean the exterior. Drop a period correct motor in it. Put the original stuff on an engine stand for the NCRS people. I would attempt a preservation vs. restoration and enjoy it. If I went totally nuts....I'd gasser it due to the front end damage.

I wish I had the temperament for a classic car.
They are so cool.
But, I'm an asshole with throttle input issues and no sympathy for my machinery.

I agree. I love the look of the classics. But I have no patience for old stuff. I generally don't keep vehicles over 2 years. And homes over 5.
I wonder the wisdom of keeping Fruit of the Looms after one wear. The cost of washing & drying probably more than the briefs. :Jeff '79:

MY tightey whities get worn for a week, when they get sweaty, they get changed, and I have about 30 pairs on the closet shelf....when the old milk carton gets full, I wash them.....some of them are about 15 years old now....
Yeh, some of them are getting kind of shitty, so they getting canned.....
