I suspect this damage occurred at low tide when the owner had to back the trailer down beyond the lip of the concrete ramp, where the axle got hung up on the edge. Then the owner simply gunned the truck in 4WD instead of trying to figure out why it was so hard to get up the ramp. He now has a two piece trailer, and everyone else who wants to load up and go home is swearing at him because the boat is tied to prime unloading dock space.

I used to tow my boat down to the Potomac river, one nice spot with plenty of ramps....guy next to me had a '4wd' pickup and went to pull his boat up, the truck just spun one wheel per end....no posi......funny as hell, true I had less boat, but my GTO had posi.....never spun a bit..... I am shocked the tow vehicle had enough traction to tear that trailer apart though.....

Perhaps his buddies suggested simply backing up a bit and flooring it? Or... "Here, hold my beer; Ill get that bitch up the ramp for you!"
I dropped my trailer off the end of the ramp ONE time, It was right before
daylight, had to get in the water in chest high water that was about 70 degrees in my underwear to lift it up, while my buddy pulled it out.. Standing there after it was out, colder the you know what here comes a cop, he sat in his car started laughing, and drove off.. :Jeff '79:

In highschool/college I worked at Grills tiki bar there in cape canaveral, the public boat ramps used to be right next door. THAT was endless entertainment. I've seen lots of retardedness, including but not limited to at least two vehicles in the water.
Agree.
Boat ramps can be a circus. Seems people leave their brains and courtesy at home when they go to the ramp. :willy:
Boat dock in the backyard FTW :hurray:

OMG, I forgot, I witnesses a p/u up to the cab but he got out ok,
prolly took a day to clean up the truck though, much less his britches.....
I've been looking at boats. Would love another sooner than later.
But I seriously don't want to deal with the ramps around here. And I may convince myself to wait until I build my dock.
I sure miss the serenity of early morning alone on the bayou. But the ramp will ruin that is a nanosecond.
