I have often heard the phrase that timing is everything.

These guys sure came out with thier stuff at the right time, and became an immediate hit.

I'm old enough to have seen their movies in theaters. I laughed then and still do. Thanks for the post, Apex. :seasix::lol:

They are an interesting pair. Cheech Marin is a really cool guy. My aunt and uncle bought a car from him many years back. They bought his 1955 Bel Air convertible that was used in Nice Dreams. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/nhlgopens/Cars/DSCN4414_zpsh2ecueaz.jpg

How many here actually rolled a joint with the giant paper that came inside the Big Bambu album?

First attempt, I bought the papers in Boston, $20 for 5 papers. Managed to roll a 1oz "joint" with 2/3rds of the last one, after trying for days various ways. It smoked ok, better as it got smaller. I carried it around for about a week in a cigar tube, as it got shorter and shorter.

A friend tried again a few weeks later with a homemade rolling machine made by copying a zig-zag roller with a vinyl shower curtain and some pvc pipe. That time it worked and he managed to roll a beautiful 3oz joint, which we called "The Quarter Pounder" depsite being light by an ounce.

After that we realized that smoking $600 joints was insane and we stopped.
